Ramzan Umrah 2027 from Pakistan: dates, crowds and how early to book
6 November 2026 · by Muhammad Zia Ur Rehman
Ramzan Umrah 2027 is the busiest and most rewarding time of the Umrah year, and the one that needs the earliest planning. This guide gives Pakistani families the dates to plan around, how the crowds and hotel prices move through the month, the Saudi deadlines for the 1448H season, and how early to book. Dates come from official sources where they exist; where something is our own advice, we say so.
Ramzan 2027 dates to plan around
- Ramzan 1448H is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027, according to Saudi Arabia's Umm al-Qura calendar, subject to the moon sighting.
- The last ten nights fall in the last week of February and the first days of March 2027. The odd nights, when many pilgrims seek Laylat al-Qadr, are the most crowded nights of the whole year in both Haram.
- Eid al-Fitr (1 Shawwal 1448) is expected on 9 March 2027. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah uses the same date in its season calendar below.
A moon-sighting day either side can move all of these by one day. Group flights are fixed in advance, so a one-day shift changes which night is the 27th, not your flight.
The Saudi deadlines for the 1448H Umrah season
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has published the calendar for this Umrah season:
| What | Hijri date | Gregorian date |
|---|---|---|
| Umrah visas issued and entry open | 14 Dhul-Hijjah 1447 | 31 May 2026 |
| Last day to issue an Umrah visa | 1 Shawwal 1448 | 9 March 2027 |
| Last day to enter Saudi Arabia on an Umrah visa | 15 Shawwal 1448 | 23 March 2027 |
| Last day to leave Saudi Arabia | 30 Shawwal 1448 | 7 April 2027 |
Two things follow for a Ramzan trip:
- No new Umrah visas after Eid day. A family that wants to travel in the last ten nights must have the visa issued before then, and in practice well before, because hotels near the Haram are booked long before the visa deadline.
- Since late 2025 an Umrah visa must be used within 30 days of issue (the Ministry shortened the entry window from three months; the stay after arrival is unchanged). This is why the visa is processed a few weeks before your flight, not when you first book.
The calendar can change by Ministry announcement; our team checks the current rules for every group.
How crowds and prices move through the month
Prices on Ramzan packages follow the demand for rooms near the Haram, and that demand is not even across the month:
- The first ten days are the calmest part of Ramzan. Hotels have more choice and prices are lower than in the last ten nights, while you still pray taraweeh in the Haram.
- The middle ten days fill steadily, especially at weekends and around the 15th.
- The last ten nights are the peak. Rooms close to the Haram sell out first, the courtyards and roads fill hours before isha, and the price for the same hotel can be far higher than earlier in the month.
- Staying for Eid adds the Eid prayer in the Haram and usually the highest prices of the season. Flights out of Jeddah and Madinah in the days after Eid are also in heavy demand.
Two package choices change the price most: the room type and how far the Makkah hotel is from the Haram. Our guide to what changes an Umrah package price explains both. In Ramzan the distance matters more than usual: a hotel you can walk from saves you queuing for the shuttle twice a night.
How early to book
This is our own advice from running groups, not an official rule:
- For the last ten nights or Eid: book as soon as the departures are published, ideally three to four months ahead. The rooms you want near the Haram are the first to go.
- For the first half of Ramzan: six to eight weeks ahead usually still gives a choice of hotels.
- Flexible on dates? Travel in the first ten days, or just before Ramzan in Shaban. You get the spiritual atmosphere of the season at a calmer, lower-priced time.
- Documents first. Passports with enough validity, CNIC or B-form copies and the vaccinations take time; have them ready before you book so the visa can be issued in the 30-day window.
Vaccinations and documents
Ramzan pilgrims need the same documents and vaccinations as at any other time of the year. For travellers from Pakistan the Saudi health requirements for Umrah include a meningococcal (ACYW) vaccine taken at least ten days before arrival and at least one dose of polio vaccine, whatever your age or earlier vaccination. The full list, with the passport and photo rules, is in our Umrah visa guide for Pakistanis.
Ramzan on the ground: practical tips
- Plan your Umrah for a quieter hour. After fajr or late morning are usually calmer for tawaf than the hours after iftar.
- Iftar in the Haram: dates, water and simple food are shared in the courtyards; keep a small bottle of water and a light bag with you.
- Suhoor: check whether your package includes meals. Most group packages do not, and restaurants near the Haram are full in the hour before fajr.
- Rawdah in Madinah: the permit to pray in the Rawdah is booked in the Nusuk app, and in Ramzan the slots go very quickly. Book as soon as your Madinah dates are confirmed.
- Elderly travellers and children: choose a hotel within walking distance, travel in the first two decades of the month if you can, and keep a meeting point agreed with your group leader for the busiest nights.
- Weather: February and March are mild in Makkah and Madinah compared with the summer months, but the crowds make the nights warm inside the Haram; drink water between prayers.
Finding a Ramzan departure
Ramzan departures are published on our Umrah packages page as soon as the group fares and hotels are confirmed. Filter by February 2027 or March 2027 and by your departure city to see them, with every hotel, flight and room price listed. If nothing is published for your dates yet, use the "Tell me when new dates open" form on the home page or send us your dates and we will message you on WhatsApp when they open.
