Umrah visa for Pakistani citizens: documents, vaccines and processing time

An Umrah visa for Pakistani citizens is not something you apply for at an embassy. It is issued through the Saudi Umrah platform on the package you book, and what you need to get right is the paperwork: the passport, the photos, the vaccinations and the timing. This guide lists the Umrah visa requirements for Pakistan in the 1448H (2026/27) season, how long it takes, and the mistakes that delay most visas. Rules come from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Saudi health authorities where they publish them; our own working practice is marked as such.

How the Umrah visa works for Pakistanis

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah links every pilgrim from abroad to a licensed Umrah company and an accommodation and transport package. The visa is issued against that package, so the order is always the same:

  1. You choose an Umrah package (dates, hotels, flights).
  2. You hand in your documents.
  3. The visa is issued electronically and arrives with your booking; there is no embassy visit or interview.

On our packages the visa is included in the price. The Ministry's FAQ puts the visa issuance fee at about 300 Saudi riyals, which is part of what you pay for the package, not a separate charge. If you only need the visa, our visa assistance page explains how we can help.

Documents you need

Have these ready for every traveller before you book:

  1. Passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel date, with at least two blank pages. (The six-month rule is the working rule used by operators; our team confirms the current requirement when you book.)
  2. Passport photos: recent, passport size, plain white background, face fully visible. Two per person.
  3. CNIC copy for every adult; B-form or CRC for children.
  4. Vaccination certificate (next section).
  5. Names exactly as in the passport for every traveller in the group, so the visa, the ticket and the hotel booking match.

A few rules from the Ministry's FAQ that families often ask about: the minimum age for an Umrah visa is five years, women no longer need a mahram for Umrah, and there is no fee for repeating Umrah in the same year.

Vaccinations for pilgrims from Pakistan

The Saudi health requirements for Umrah in 1447H (2026) ask the following of travellers from Pakistan. Check the current document before you travel; we do the same for every group.

  • Meningococcal (ACYW): required. A quadrivalent conjugate vaccine within the last five years, or a polysaccharide vaccine within the last three years, given at least ten days before arrival. The certificate must show the vaccine and the date.
  • Polio: required for everyone arriving from Pakistan, whatever the age or earlier vaccination: at least one dose of oral (bOPV) or inactivated (IPV) polio vaccine before travelling.
  • COVID-19: proof is required only for specific groups (people over 65, pregnant women and people with certain chronic conditions).
  • Seasonal flu: recommended, not required.

In Pakistan these vaccinations and the certificate are given at the government Border Health Services counters and district health offices. Ask us which counter serves your city, and take the vaccine at least two weeks before the flight so the ten-day rule is never a problem.

Processing time and the 30-day rule

  • Processing: once the documents are complete and the package is confirmed, the visa usually takes a few working days. Our visa service lists 3 to 5 working days; allow more in Ramzan and before school holidays, when the platform is busy.
  • Use it within 30 days. Since late 2025 an Umrah visa is cancelled automatically if you do not enter Saudi Arabia within 30 days of issue (the Ministry shortened the entry window from three months). This is why we process the visa a few weeks before your flight, not the day you book.
  • Stay: after arrival, the Umrah visa allows a stay of up to 90 days according to the Ministry's FAQ. Group packages are much shorter, and you return on the group's flights.

Season deadlines for 1448H

The Ministry's calendar for this season:

What Date
Umrah visas issued and entry open 31 May 2026
Last day to issue an Umrah visa 9 March 2027 (1 Shawwal 1448)
Last day to enter Saudi Arabia 23 March 2027
Last day to leave Saudi Arabia 7 April 2027

If you plan to travel in Ramzan, read our Ramzan Umrah 2027 guide: the last ten nights sell out long before these deadlines.

Mistakes that delay an Umrah visa

These are the common reasons a visa takes longer than it should:

  • A passport close to expiry, or a damaged passport. Renew first; it is faster than a refused or delayed visa.
  • Photos that are not plain white background, too old, or with the face partly covered.
  • A name spelled differently on the passport, the CNIC and the booking, especially in family groups.
  • The vaccination taken too late, less than ten days before arrival, or a certificate without the vaccine name and date.
  • Booking too close to a deadline, in Ramzan or near the end of the season, when hotels and platform capacity are tight.
  • Children under five included in a booking: they cannot get an Umrah visa under the current rules.

How we handle it

When you book an Umrah package with us, you send the documents on WhatsApp or at our office, we check them against the current rules before anything is submitted, and you receive the visa with your tickets and hotel confirmation. If something is missing, we tell you what and why, in writing, before it causes a delay.

Frequently asked questions

Pilgrims from Pakistan get the Umrah visa through a licensed Umrah company on a booked accommodation and transport package; there is no embassy application. With our packages the visa is included and we submit it for you.
A meningococcal ACYW vaccine at least ten days before arrival, and at least one dose of polio vaccine for everyone arriving from Pakistan. COVID-19 proof applies only to specific groups and flu vaccine is recommended, not required (Saudi health requirements, 1447H).
You must enter Saudi Arabia within 30 days of the visa being issued, or it is cancelled; after arrival the Ministry's FAQ allows a stay of up to 90 days. That is why the visa is processed a few weeks before the flight.
